ABOUT US .....
Building is the Family Business
George Wiltshire started business in 1934 in his home village of Whitley. He built the village stores, houses, and local farm buildings, continuing until the outbreak of war.
In 1946, after Army service, work comprised renovations and improvements to local farms, house building, and new estate developments in Whitley and Atworth.
Richard Wiltshire was trained in the family firm and at Bristol. From the 1960s he has undertaken: Residential development: Listed building works and conservation projects: Commercial buildings and associated civil engineering work.
The firm's reputation for quality work has been achieved thanks to the skills of long-term, directly employed craftsmen working as a team. In building the old adage applies, if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well.
Building projects are never as simple or straight forward as they may first appear. Today, a host of legal, financial, regulatory, and technical specialists can have their input, confusing decision taking on any scheme. Our experience allows us to offer an holistic view of the process with the appropriate level of expertise to guide the project to completion. Specialists are consulted when necessary. Computer aided design assists the production of drawings and illustrations for all Planning and Building Regulation applications.
Our current work comprises Design and Build residential projects, work with architect's schemes for conservation of churches and listed buildings, other residential and commercial buildings, repairs and renovations, plumbing and heating/cooling installations, all within a ten mile radius of Melksham.
